Tammy Cancela, co-founder of Verbal Communications’ Professional Connections practice, has led the marketing efforts of both professional services firms and F100 companies successfully for the last 25 years. A marketing expert who is adept at helping professionals understand and apply the technical aspects of marketing to their practices, she drives quickly to the underlying causes of marketing success or failure and helps her clients take action. She was able to help double the size of one architectural firm in 18 months by focusing the partners and associates on developing relationships with specific high growth targets and eliminating the practice of “shot gunning” proposals to every prospective client with an active RFP. Rocket science? No. Effective targeting? Absolutely.

Tammy focuses on practical applications of marketing concepts that drive successful business development and client management. Attorneys, architects, engineers and CPAs must focus on supporting their clients while, at the same time, developing business from new and existing clients. They generally do not have the time to devote to lengthy training sessions that provide a theoretical framework for marketing planning and implementation. She believes that professionals need practical personal business development plans and the skills necessary to achieve their plans immediately upon completing any training module.
